Hey melo,
I'm not sure if/when the bulk of the private APIs we use for the apps/clients will be public, but there are a few API updates we'd like to make in the near future to rollout some extended functionality for developers to make interesting tools for/with Notifo. For example, I can see how being able to get the last X messages would be handy for those looking to make tighter desktop/browser extension integration.
Curious - what kinds of things were you thinking about building?
Cheers,
Paul
Hi,
for starters I would like to make a Notifo => XMPP gateway to replace the current Mac client which I find to limited (lack of local history for once, but also sticky notifications).
But I also like the ability to do some routing on my side: receive a notification and check user availability on IM networks, hours of day, whos'-on-call, and send the notification over the best channel.
For all that I need access to the real-time API.
Bye,
+1 awesome! Also I need to do my custom client basically to stick growls and detects reading.
Seconded. I work on the growl project from time-to-time and we're thinking about adding a way for it to act as an output for other services such as your own via plugins. Imagine a plugin which subscribes to a users feed and displays those via growl directly...no need for an extra application etc.
