Problems with setting "Time Zone" and "Quiet Hours"
  • PerceptumPerceptum November 2010

The "Notifications" page only renders properly under IE 8 with compatibility mode turned on. When not viewing it compatibility mode, the following problems exist:

    1. Time zone is not always saving and reverts to (GMT-10) Hawaii
    2. Selecting the check box next to "Quiet Hours" causes the two time selectors to disappear. Unchecking the box causes the two time selectors to appear.

iPhone app and Website not syncing properly

    1. Updating the "Quiet Hours" settings on the web site does not update the iPhone app.
    2. Updating the "Quiet Hours" on the iPhone app updates the setting on the web, but sometimes the times on the website are off by 30 minutes. (Time zones are matching).

Hi Perceptum - the first sounds like a javascript issue in IE. On page load, the timezone value is loaded and uses JS to change the value of the dropdown. I will take a look, and also with the odd reverse checkbox activity.

    Is IE8 your primary browser?

Unfortunately the iphone app and website quiet hours settings are independent of each other. The app settings page does not load the latest value from the server (but remembers if it was last set in the app), but will function with whichever times you set on the site if it was last set there. Bit confusing, sorry!

As for "sometimes the times on the website are off by 30 minutes", do you mean that after you set a value on the iphone app and load the website quiet hours settings page, the value has changed but is not quite what you set?

Any feedback will be helpful! Thanks for using notifo.

For the most part (80%), IE 8 in my primary browser. The other 20% goes to Firefox. Firefox has a few glitches so I can not set it to by my primary browser in Windows.

Hopefully you will be able to sync the two so it will be less confusing, for now I will manually sync them. Thank you for the explanation.

Yes, that is exactly what I mean.
